Just a few hours ago, Longitude released the first round of acts for the 2016 festival. Only a few acts have been announced but there are already some eye catching names and amazing headliners that are sure to get people excited.
I know many of us have been struggling through the dreary month of January. But the doom and gloom is almost over and festival season is on the horizon to lift your spirits. Since the departure of Oxegen in 2013, Longitude has taken its place as one of the biggest festivals in the country. Every year it has grown in size and this July it returns to Marley park with one of its greatest lineups yet.
Without doubt, the most impressive headliner is Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar. With platinum records and Grammy awards under his belt, Kendrick is one of the heavy hitters in the hip-hop industry and arguably the greatest rapper of our generation. Other big name hip-hop acts announced include Action Bronson, ASAP Ferg and Tyler the Creator.
With such a great lineup on offer, Hip-hop fans are in for a treat. Dublin’s very own Rejjie Snow will also be performing and is likely to receive major support in his home town. Longitude will be a great opportunity for him to further his career by performing to the huge number of rap fans in attendance who have never heard his music before.
More acts are too be announced soon but with some many great artists already confirmed, Longitude 2016 is definitely a festival you wont want to miss. Tickets go on sale next Friday, the 29th of January, at 9pm. This is no camping at this festival but €160 will get you 3 days of great music and fun. For more information visit longitude.ie.
